A private New Year's dinner at home: one long table, a green and white palette, and a menu designed to match the room it was served in.
The idea
It started with a colour. Green and white, with silver as the only metal, chosen so the table would read as one continuous line instead of a series of separate place settings. The flowers, the candles, the glassware and the printed menu were all picked against that single decision.
The room was dark, so the table had to carry the light. Tall candles, a low green garland running the full length, mirrored chargers to throw the candlelight back up. Guests sat down to a room where the evening had already started.
